History:Originally there was a Gothic fortress in this town as a manor house, but we do not know when it was built. The first written mention of this fortress dates back to 1389, when it was sold by Benes of Sedčice to Vilý Olešek, Ráček of Soběsuk and Jindřich of Sedčice. Further references to the fortress disappear and the fortress probably disappeared without a trace during the Hussite wars. The founder of the Radonice castle was the Losy family of Losinthal, who resided in the castle in neighbouring Vintířov. In 1717, they decided to rebuild it, but when most of the original building was demolished in 1720, the owner of the estate, Jan Adam Losy of Losynthal, died and the rebuilding was postponed. However, the need for a new residence prompted his descendants to build a new Baroque chateau in Radonice, which they moved into in 1725. The Baroque chateau also included a riding hall and stables. The Elks lived in the castle until 1785, when the Windischgrätz family bought the estate. In 1816, they sold the castle for 20,000 gold pieces to the Radon town council, which set up offices and a ballroom on the first floor. An inn was built on the ground floor and guest rooms in the attic. The town fire in 1842 also destroyed the riding hall and stables, which were never rebuilt. The local castle building subsequently served only as a town hall and has retained its original purpose to the present day. The castle building is almost square in plan. Its frontage, which faces the square, has six window axes and an entrance portal with a stone lining and the town emblem on top. Behind the portal begins a corridor arched with a cross vault from which a staircase branches off to the first floor. The other ground-floor rooms are also vaulted.
