History:The church in Měděnecká was built in the style of late Baroque in 1803-1814 as a replacement of the original wooden church, mentioned as early as 1581. A 15th-century statue of a Madonna, originally located in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary on the hill above the village, was placed in the undercroft of this church. The church was renovated in 1914 and then in 1926. After 1945 the church was no longer maintained and gradually fell into disrepair and was destroyed. In 2003 the local parish, then belonging to the Pilsen diocese, was dissolved and merged with the parish of Vejprty. Since the beginning of the 21st century, the church has undergone gradual restoration to its present form at the time of my visit. Since 2013 the Vejprty parish, including Měděnec, belongs to the Litoměřice diocese. Currently, services are held in the church only occasionally. The church is a single-nave building oriented to the north with a three-sided closed presbytery. There is a massive tower in the axis of the southern facade. Inside there is a 15th century Gothic statue of the Madonna, originally placed in the chapel at Mědník. The other furnishings are contemporary with the construction of the church or even younger (mostly Neo-Romanesque, Neo-Baroque and Classical). Only in the undercroft is a late Gothic statue of the Madonna from the second half of the fifteenth century. Some modern additions come from the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary at Mědník.
