History:This memorial to the victims of World War II was created by an unknown to me author sometime after the end of World War II to commemorate the fallen of that war. It is possible, however, that it was originally a memorial to the victims of World War I, created sometime in the 1920s or 1930s, and rebuilt to its present form after World War II. Be that as it may, this memorial fell into disrepair during the second half of the 20th century. Eventually it saw its restoration, which took place during the 1990s or the first two decades of the 21st century.
