History:The Church of St. Margaret is a Roman Catholic church (liturgically it is a cemetery chapel) dedicated to St. Margaret in Vintířov in the Chomutov district. Vintířov was a parish village as early as the middle of the 14th century and the then Gothic church was first mentioned in 1384. In 1730 it was rebuilt by the Losynthal family in the Baroque style. The oratory and the narthex at the west front were added in the 19th century. In 1963, the interior furnishings of the church were removed. The church is a rectangular single-nave building terminating in a rectangular chancel at the east. Adjacent to the north side of the presbytery is a younger sacristy and oratory, accessible by its own entrance from the outside. The facades are smooth. The east and west sides are decorated with panelled gables. A slender sanctus tower projects above the roof of the presbytery. There used to be a Baroque high altar from 1744 and an older altar from the 16th century on the wall next to the presbytery. Around 1520, when Vintířov belonged to Opl of Fictum, a late Gothic arch was also made and moved to the National Gallery. The late Gothic statue of the Resurrection of the Lord by Ulrich Creutz has been lost.
