History:Nové Zvolání (German: Neugeschrei) is a village located about 3 kilometres south of the centre of Vejprt. Nové Zvolání originated in the mid-sixteenth century as a mining settlement near the Jan mine in the desert, which was opened in 1550. The first written mention of the village dates back to 1575. During the Thirty Years' War, mining in the Vejprt area almost disappeared and the Jan na desert mine was not reopened until 1697. In addition to this, there were also the mines of Mary Joseph and Hope in God in the village, but they were soon closed due to the large amount of water that could not be pumped out. The John in the Desert mine was still in operation in the 1840s. The towns of Vejprty, Přísečnice and Mount St. Sebastian contributed to the financing of mining there. As late as 1789-1812, 1.1 tonnes of silver and 34 tonnes of cobalt ore were produced there, but the operation was financially unprofitable. Nevertheless, mining continued, but in 1824-1853 the mine produced only 27 kg of silver and 8.7 tonnes of cobalt ore. In the first half of the nineteenth century, the Bierzehend mine also produced fluorite, which was supplied to the ironworks in Kovářská. The last attempts to revive the mining industry were made in the mid-twentieth century, when deposits of pitchblende were unsuccessfully sought in the area of Nový Zvolání. In the nineteenth century several industrial enterprises were established in Nový Zvolany. The largest of these was the Kannenberger brothers' ribbon and braid factory, which at certain times employed up to half of the village's population. In 1946 it was nationalised and joined the Krnov national enterprise Ribbon and Braid Factory. Other companies were the Bartl Brothers, which produced knitting and braiding machines, and the company of Johann Schmidt. From 1865, it produced braids, various types of cords and other goods for women's clothing. It disappeared in 1947 after being incorporated into the national enterprise Stap. machines. Similarly, many other small textile enterprises ceased to operate. Until the Second World War a number of tradesmen and craftsmen worked in the village. Most of the establishments were closed after the war. Only one of the inns remained open and two shops were taken over by the Osvobození sales cooperative. A new grocery store was opened in 1981. The Kanneberg brothers' factory was used in the 1950s as a car repair shop for the Jáchym mines. Thereafter, the site was occupied by several businesses specialising in farm machinery. The last of these was renamed KOVO in 1977 and later BELET (impeccable, cheap, durable), which produced construction wheels, chrome-plated furniture, bearing housings and, from 1980 onwards, forklift trucks, partly for export to the Soviet Union. After 1990, BELET focused on the production of handling equipment, while metal furniture was taken over by DUNO. The former Kannenberger factory is now home to Belet, which manufactures material handling equipment. During the 20th century, the village was subsequently annexed to Vejprti.
