Loučná pod Klínovcem - Rectory with the Church of the Conversion of St. Paul

Information

Visited:8. 5. 2020

History:The first local church was built here in 1656 and was located near the present cemetery. However, the church gradually fell into disrepair and was replaced by a new Baroque church built between 1731 and 1737 according to the plans of the architect Matěj Storch. This church was built next to the present parish building. The present rectory building was built in 1784 in the Baroque style as a two-storey building with a mansard roof. A Baroque bell tower was added to the church between 1801 and 1802. After the end of World War II, the church was no longer maintained and gradually fell into disrepair. Already in 1960 the church was closed and in 1977 the Vejprt parish requested the demolition of the church. Fortunately, this request was refused by the conservationists, but in 1979 the conservationists changed their minds and the church equipment was taken to the depositories and the church was demolished on 12 June 1981 at 14:00. During the 2nd half of the 20th century or in the first two decades of the 21st century the rectory became a hotel, which it was at the time of my visit.

Impressions:A beautiful rectory, where it is a pity that the church has not been preserved to this day.
