History:Kadaňský Rohozec (German: Böhmisch Rust) is a small village located about 4.5 kilometres southwest of Radonice. The name Rohozec is a diminutive of the word rohoz (reed). In historical sources, the name of the village appears in the following forms: in Rohozczy (1383), in villa Rohozka Boemicali (1411), w Rohozcze (1545), Rohosstj (1545), Ruest (1654), Böhmish Rust (1787) and Böhmisch-Rust (1846). Until 1949, the name Czech Rohozec was used. The first written mention of Kadaňský Rohozec dates back to 1322 or 1383. The village was probably divided between several owners, because in 1383 Anna of Zahořany owned three fields here, which she inherited from her husband Odolen of Zahořany, and in 1411 Bohuslav of Mašt'ov sold the salary of one kopeck of groschen to the parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Mašt'ov. From the sixteenth century Rohozec became part of the Vojnín manor, which was annexed to Vintířov by Albrecht Šlik in 1547. After the Thirty Years' War, according to the tax roll, five peasants, three cottagers and five families lived in the village on the municipal property. Together, they owned ten covers, six cows, five heifers, five sheep and 26 pigs. One of the locals ran a shekels. In 1843 a one-room school for forty children was opened and a firemen's association was active. After the abolition of the patrimonial administration in the middle of the 19th century, the village became an independent municipality. After the end of World War II, the original population was displaced and the inhabitants from the interior were resettled. So while in 1930 there were 193 inhabitants, in 1950 there were only 96 inhabitants. Thanks to this, the village became part of the municipality of Vintířov in 1961 and in 1976 it became part of the municipality of Radonice. The location on the border of the military convoy led to damage to the passage road by military equipment, which also used the ford instead of the bridge over the Liboc, thus polluting the water. In 1969 Rohozec was classified as a settlement of temporary importance. Among the services there was only a mixed goods shop in the former school building, and there was no pub. Only two houses were connected to the telephone network, one of which had a public telephone exchange. According to the 2011 census, there were 48 inhabitants.
