History:This monument was created as a memorial to the fallen men in World War I in the village of Sedlo na Bílinou. The monument was created by an unknown author probably in the 20s or 30s of the 20th century. After the end of World War II, the original memorial plaque was destroyed and replaced with the current memorial plaque, which commemorates the victims of not only World War I, but also World War II and the Second Resistance. Unfortunately, the village of Sedlo nad Bílinou had to give way to lignite mining during the second half of the 20th century, and so the memorial was moved to its current location.
