St. Sebastian's Mountain - memorial to the victims of World War II

Information

Visited:22. 6. 2021

History:This memorial was created in memory of the fallen men in World War I. The memorial was created by an unknown artist probably in the 1920s or 1930s, as evidenced by a contemporary postcard from 1931. Sometime after the end of World War II, this memorial was modified and changed to a memorial to the victims of World War II. Originally there was a stone sculpture on top of the monument, a relief on the monument and a stone fence around the monument. Unfortunately, these elements have not survived to this day. During the second half of the 20th century the monument probably fell into disrepair. Eventually, however, it was restored either in the 1990s or in the first two decades of the 21st century.

Impressions:A simple monument, about which I have unfortunately found almost no information.
