History:Dobřenec (German: Dobrenz) is a small village located about 3 km southwest of Mašt'ov. The name of the village is a diminutive of the personal name Dobren, which was probably also the original variant of the name of the settlement. In historical sources, the name appears in the following forms: de Dobrsenz (1281), in Dobrzienczi (1401), in Dobrzinczi (1455), in the village of Dobrzeny (1542), w Dobrženczy (1545), Doberencz (1593), Dobrzenicz (1615), Dobrentz (1654) or Dobrenz (1787).The first written mention of the village dates back to 1281 and mentions it as the seat of the Pyrsedote de Dobrsenz. Until the 16th century the village belonged to the Mašt'ov manor, then to Doupov and Neprobylnice until the 17th century. According to the 1654 tax roll, after the Thirty Years' War there were only four peasants and nine cottagers living in the village, cultivating fifty hundred acres of land, while another eighty remained fallow. They had a total of twenty covers and kept eleven cows, 24 heifers, thirteen sheep, 24 pigs and eleven goats. One hundred years later, in addition to the farmers, there were also a blacksmith, a potter and a miller working in the rented manor mill. In the 1840s the village had 139 inhabitants, a pub and the Holy Trinity Chapel in the village square. It was also an important honey producer. From 1732 Dobřenec was part of the estate of the manor of Krasnodvor, where it remained until the abolition of the patrimonial administration. From 1850 Dobřenec belonged to the Doupov district as an independent village, but eighteen years later it was transferred to the Kadaň district. As a local district it included Emanuelův Dvůr and from 1869 also Konice. In the 1950s the village lost its self-government and became a local part of Podbořanský Rohozec and since 1961 it belongs to Mašt'ov. After the end of World War II, most of the inhabitants were evicted and the village could not be repopulated even to half of its pre-war state. So while in 1930 there were 239 inhabitants, in 1950 there were only 76 inhabitants. The decline in the number of inhabitants continued after the establishment of the Hradiště military unit, so that in 1991 there were only 6 inhabitants. Despite the construction of a new poultry farm, a cowshed and an agricultural mechanisation station, the village failed to attract inhabitants even with the construction of four new dwellings. Life in the village was made more difficult by the frequent passage of agricultural machinery and military equipment, as well as by the lack of services. In 1969 there was only a kiosk with refreshments and a canteen of the state farm. A mobile shop, which came only twice a week, sold general goods. According to the 2011 census, there were 10 inhabitants.
